We’ve had a busy couple of weekends here at PAWS of Jackson Hole. The weekend of October 21st we had a Disaster Sheltering for Companion Animals workshop. American Humane sent an incredibly knowledgeable representative from Colorado to lead the workshop. We had 17 participants including PAWS staff over the two day workshop. Saturday consisted of classroom training at the Teton County EOC and Sunday we did a hands on exercise of setting up a temporary shelter at the Start Bus building. A huge thank you to Teton County Emergency Management, American Humane, Start Bus, and of course our Disaster Animal Response Team volunteers. If you are unfamiliar with our DART program please check out the DART program page on our website: http://pawsofjh.org/programs/disasterplanning/

This past Saturday we hosted a HOWL-O-WEEN Adoption Event on Saturday 10/28 at Teton Motors Subaru. Lucky’s Place of Star Valley, Jackson/ Teton County Animal Shelter, Teton Valley Community Animal Shelter, and the Animal Adoption Center all attended with a wide variety of adoptable cats and dogs. The weather was purrrfect, the animals enjoyed meeting lots of new people, and 5 cats and 1 dog got adopted. Thank you to all of you who came to the event, Wydaho Mobile Vet for donating their van to keep the kittens warm, those who volunteered, and of course those who adopted an animal in need of a home.
